Our Vice President, Jeff Quick, presented a fire safety program for the kindergarten class at Westfield Elementary School. They sent this to us as a thank you – you’re welcome kids!

On November 8, 2014, the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Company said goodbye to a loved piece of apparatus. The “Bus” as she was known as in Chatham, was going home. After the purchase of a newer fire engine in January, we were in contact with Lincolnway Engine Company No. 1, the original owners of the 1982 Mack Pumper, to let her go home to her original owners. After many phone calls, texts, emails and meetings, she was going home. It was a pleasure to house her for the past 12 years. I personally was honored to be there to say goodbye to the loved engine. I’m not going to lie, there were tears in my eyes as we listened to the Bus go down the valley one last time and to be reunited with her original family.

On behalf of the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Company, we would like to say “thank you” to Lincolnway for allowing us the pleasure of using her for the past 12 years and that we couldn’t think of a more suiting place for the Bus to go home to.

Sincerely,

Sam Warren, President
